At WELCO Technologies we believe that the more questions we ask about your motor system needs the better we can design a motor for you that addresses your motor requirements. Likewise, we feel the more questions you ask of us, the better you'll understand what we're all about. If your question is not addressed here, please feel free to contact us.
Q. Does WELCO Technologies have a Catalog?
A. No. Since every motor we manufacturer is custom designed for a specific application, we don’t have “stock” motors. To determine if WELCO can design and manufacture to your needs, please contact us for more information.
Q. Are WELCO’s motors expensive?
A. No. Our design team works with end users and OEM's to provide the lowest total life cycle cost solution. If continuous operation is critical to your operation, WELCO Technologies can design and manufacturer a motor to your specific or unique needs to avoid costly equipment down time.
Q. What if we don’t know what our specific need is?
A. No problem. Since we are the leaders in custom-engineered AC motor solutions, we’re use to working with end users and OEM's to determine their specific requirements. We look at more than just traditional motor requirements, but rather at the entire operating system to determine the lowest cost of ownership.
Q. What is Power Factor?
A. AC induction motors are, in part, electromagnets and power factor is a measure of the amount of magnetizing current required for the motor to produce torque. Power factor is an important consideration when selecting a motor since low power factor will require higher costs for equipment down stream of the motor. (i.e., switchgear, wiring, and inverters). Also, motors with very low power factor may result in penalty charges from the utility company. WELCO motors have very high power factor.
Q. What advantages are there to WELCO PM Synchronous motors?
A. Because of the superior design and the better materials used in WELCO PM Synchronous motors, they tend to run at lower currents and operating temperatures, resulting in longer life for lubricants, bearings and motor insulation. Another advantage is that, by generating less waste and less heat in the space around the motor, air conditioning and ventilation requirements are reduced, resulting in addition energy savings.
