Winding motors
Winding Motors deliver superior performance in take-up applications. They provide constant tension from core to full reel when applied to systems winding materials such as ribbon, wire, film, cloth, paper, fiber optics, or yarn. Winding Motors maintain constant tension by slowing the drive as the reel diameter increases, while providing increased torque output. The speed of the Winding Motor is determined by the load. By changing the voltage to the stator winding, you get process line flexibility for handling varying materials, widths, and thickness’. This eliminates the need for any tension or speed feedback systems.
Helper Motors
Helper Motors provide constant torque from stall up to 2/3 synchronous speed. They are specifically designed to help other motors or adjustable speed drives. Helper Motors are proven performers in web and transfer systems using idlers and dancer accumulator rolls. Helper Motors deliver the required torque to overcome roller friction, effectively maintaining roll-to-line speed. Smooth process operation ensures no stretch or break in low tensile strength materials, such as processing film and tissue paper.
Induction Brake Motors
Induction Brake Motors provide steady back tension throughout winding cycles to prevent overrunning, and effectively maintain unwind tension. Use with a voltage controller for constant tension, in a stopped line to maintain set tension, or as a rewind motor if reversing is required. Induction Brake Motors deliver constant dependable braking torque from stall to maximum rated speed. They efficiently absorb full torque up to brake speeds of 1800 rpm without de-rating. Induction Brake Motors are easily "geared in" at any convenient speed for flexible changeover.
